The Macedonia Baptist Church of Supply, NC dates back to 1891. The church was established as a result of a three member site committee appointed in 1899 to find a site more central to the community. The site chosen was near the "Big Oak". In 1904, the name "Roil Oak" meaning "Royal Oak" was chosen. By 1906 this church was generally called Royal Oak Macedonia, but through the years the present name evolved- "Big Macedonia" - growing out of the name "Royal Oak" which was translated from the word Royal to mean Big and dropping the word Oak. Big Macedonia moved to the present site in 1928 where a wooden frame structure was built. That building was facing south, but was turned around to face north in 1951. A new brick structure was completed in 1963. In the 1970's a brick fellowship building was added, and also - Hallelujah - a mortgage burning was held. Big Macedonia has continued to grow and blossom throughout the years. We praise and give thanks to God for sustaining and blessing us. God IS Yesterday, Today, and Forever More. AMEN!
We are a Bible Believing church. As instructed by the Great Commandment (Matthew 22:37-29) and the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20), the biblical mission of Big Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church is to: worship and glorify God and His Son, Jesus Christ (Romans 15:5-9); to equip believers for Christian living (Ephesians 4:11-16); and to evangelize the community and the world (Matthew 28:19; Acts 1:8)
Our History is Rich, Our Roots are Deep, and Our Faith in God is Great!
